FAQS
WHERE TO TRY?
Village Coffee Roastery currently supplies the baristas at Phil's Emporium Op Shop, the local Southern Harvest Farmer's Market, and the Captains Flat Mens Shed.
WHERE TO BUY?
You can buy from Mike direct from the online shop, the Open Food Network, the Southern Harvest Farmer's Market in Bungendore, or from the Bungendore IGA.
WHAT QUANTITIES CAN I ORDER?
Currently on offer are 1kg and 500g bags of roasted whole beans. Multiple amounts are readily available.
GRINDING?
Mike can grind small quantities to your specific needs, depending on what type of coffee method you utilise. It is always better to grind smaller amounts as required or to grind-as-you-go. Once ground, coffee begins to lose its freshness. Investing in a grinder for the home gives freedom to adjust to personal preferences and the ability to try different types of coffee brewing methods.
DECAF?
Yes, we have a special DECAF from Columbia utilising the Swiss Water Process. Great for espresso and plunger. Decaf is currently only available from Mike direct.
FRESH?
Mike is a micro-roaster preferring to roast smaller quantities at a time (5kg). Straight after the cooling process the coffee is bagged, sealed, and dated. It is best to let the coffee develop in the bag for about 5 days before opening. It is always better to acquire smaller amounts rather than try to store large amounts for long periods of time. Fresh is always best.
LOCAL?
The Village Coffee Roastery has a heart for the local and happy to supply the home or commercial barista in the Bungendore area.
ETHICAL?
Village Coffee Roastery only uses ethically sourced coffee, which means that working conditions and renumeration for farmers need to be fair. Mike currently sources green bean through Project Origin.
